Miraculously, I woke up this morning to blue skies (apparently a rare sight here). This was a good omen for the day.
Since it was so nice, we rented bikes and pedaled off around the city. First stop: the Van Gogh museum. Of course, no pictures (meh), but it was amazing (you can take my word for it). They went through van Gogh’s life and his painting progression, which was actually kind of depressing.. Someone just needed to slap that guy around and tell him to snap out of it! Or maybe just give him a hug. Man.
We spent the rest of the day touring the city and seeing some more sights. We stumbled upon the narrowest building in Europe! Only about 3 feet across. And I’m pretty sure someone lives there. I don’t even. Although apparently it gets a bit wider going back from the street. But it’s still pretty darn narrow.
We also popped over to Dam Square to see the Royal Palace. I met Darth Vader. nbd. We also walked along Kalverstraat, one of the shopping streets, and the floating flower market. So many tulip bulbs. Dear god. So many. And so pretty!
Tomorrow’s our last day in Amsterdam. I’m going to miss this city! It’s so beautiful. And I love all the bikes and narrow streets. It’s so compact! So we’ll see what we end of doing tomorrow. Until then!
